"Into The Light" - Herkimer Diamond, Black Tourmaline and Black Spinel Necklace
We live in a dual world governed by the balance of darkness and light. It is said that darkness is the absence of light, therefore darkness and light cannot exist without one another. The dance between the two will always remain - the stars and the moon will always need the darkness to be seen.
Set in solid 925 sterling silver and measuring 1 3/4" (approx. 45mm) long and 1" (approx. 25mm) wide, this unique pendant features three very powerful gemstones - Herkimer Diamond, Black Tourmaline (raw - unprocessed, uncut) and Black Spinel that come together to tell a story of darkness bursting into light. The pendant hangs on a black spinel chain hand-wrapped in sterling silver, 18" long (approx. 46cm), fastening with a delicate hook clasp. The weight of the pendant is 8.8g (approx. 0.31oz), including the sterling silver setting. Read below about the properties of each stone.
Handcrafted - One of a kind.
Herkimer Diamonds are not actually diamonds, but are rare double-terminated quartz crystals of exceptional clarity discovered within exposed outcrops of dolostone in and around Herkimer County, New York and the Mohawk River Valley. Herkimer "Diamonds" are the high energy seekers of the crystal world. Unusually transparent with a brilliant sparkle, they manifest pure, solid Light and are powerful amplifiers of spiritual energy. As perfect conduits of the universal Life Force, they are exceptional healing crystals, and are used in meditations, dream and vision work, and advanced spiritualization applications.
Tourmaline belongs to a complex family of aluminum borosilicates with prismatic, vertically striated crystals which are uniquely triangular in cross-section. Black Tourmaline is revered as a premier talisman of protection, a shield deflecting and dispelling negative energies. It is also considered a powerful grounding stone, electrical in nature, providing a connection between Earth and the human spirit.
The rich and regal Spinel is a gemstone that ranges in color from pale pink to deepest black, with the black spinel being one of the rarest. The spinel is known as the "great impostor" in the world of gemstones. Several of the "rubies" in the Queen of England's crown jewels are actually spinels. Spinel is considered to be a soothing stone because of its calming energy, often recommended for those who are suffering from stress. It is also thought to encourage renewal and healing. In feng shui, spinel is said to carry yang fire energy.
