"Sunna" - Golden Citrine, Freshwater Pearl and Sterling Silver Necklace
Borrowing its name from Sunna, the Goddess of the Sun in Scandinavian mythology, the pendant in this unique necklace glows with the light of a thousand suns (unlike other cultures, Norse mythology views the Sun as female while the Moon is male). Set in sterling silver and measuring 1 1/2" (approx. 38mm) long and 3/4" (approx. 18mm) wide, the flawlessly faceted citrine featured in this exotic pendant is sure to draw a lot of attention! Two strands of high-quality, high-lustre ivory pearls (6-7mm), and a round sterling silver spring clasp (18mm) that closes in the front complete the design.
The weight of the pendant is 10.7g (approx. 0.38oz), with a carat weight of approx. 53.5ct (1ct=200mg) including the sterling silver setting.
The pendant can easily be removed from the clasp, making it possible to wear this versatile necklace multiple ways. By removing the pendant you can have a completely different necklace, a simple, classy two-strands of pearls which can be worn either with the clasp asymmetrically on one side, or with it concealed in the back. Overall length of the necklace is 18" (approx. 46cm) - add 1 1/2" (approx. 38mm) for the pendant.
Handcrafted - One of a kind.
The gemstone Citrine is named after the French word "citron", meaning lemon. The color of citrine ranges from straw and sun yellow, to clay orange, to deep wine colored Madeira red, and like all crystal quartz it has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale which makes it insensitive to scratches. It is the official birthstone for the month of November as adopted by the American National Association of Jewelers in 1912, and it is also considered the Planetary stone for the Sun Sign of Virgo.
Citrine is considered to bring happiness, joy and optimism, and it is one of only two minerals on the planet which do not hold or accumulate negative energy, but dispels and transforms it. Citrine energizes and invigorates, promotes warmth, comfort, and energy.
